Short answer first: Colorado Springs has two restaurants in the 2026 Michelin Guide, Four by Brother Luck downtown and The Penrose Room at The Broadmoor. Neither one holds a star or a Bib Gourmand. Both are listed as Recommended, which is still a real Michelin distinction, inspectors visited and wrote them up, but it is a different tier than a star, and I think the difference is worth explaining plainly instead of letting a headline blur it.
How I checked this: every award, address, price band, and dish mentioned below comes straight from Michelin's own guide site (guide.michelin.com) or the restaurant's own current site. I have not personally eaten at either place, so I am not pretending to review them, just laying out what Michelin actually said and how to book a table, researched and sourced, not invented.
Some background: this was the first time Michelin ever published a statewide Colorado guide. Inspectors covered the whole state at once in September 2026, 63 restaurants across 22 cuisine types, and Colorado Springs landed two names on that list for the first time ever. The Gazette covered the local angle when it broke, and Michelin's own recap is here: Every Michelin-Starred Restaurant in Colorado for 2026.
Who's actually on the list
| Restaurant | Michelin distinction | Neighborhood | Price | Book |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Four by Brother Luck | Recommended + Exceptional Cocktails Award | Downtown (N. Tejon St) | $$$ | OpenTable |
| The Penrose Room | Recommended + Outstanding Service Award | The Broadmoor, southwest Springs | $$$$ | Broadmoor site / phone |
What "Recommended" actually means (and what it doesn't)
Michelin's full scale for the U.S. guide runs from Recommended, up through Bib Gourmand (their value pick for great food at a fair price), up to One, Two, and Three Stars. Recommended is the entry tier: an inspector ate there and thought it belonged in the guide, but it is not a star and it is not a Bib Gourmand. As of the 2026 Colorado guide, Colorado Springs has zero restaurants with a star or a Bib Gourmand. If you see a headline that says "Michelin-starred restaurant in Colorado Springs," that is not accurate. What's real, and still worth knowing about, is that both of these restaurants also picked up a separate Michelin special award: a cocktail award for Four by Brother Luck's bar program, and a service award for The Penrose Room's staff.
Four by Brother Luck
Award: Recommended, 2026 MICHELIN Guide Colorado, plus the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Colorado Exceptional Cocktails Award (bar manager Kyle McNerney).
Neighborhood: Downtown Colorado Springs, on N. Tejon St.
Address: 321 N. Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Cuisine: American / contemporary Southwestern, built around a four-course prix fixe (the name "Four" is the course count).
What to order: per Michelin's own write-up, the rabbit empanada with pea and carrot relish and habanero hot sauce, the green chile and duck confit, the Colorado lamb chop with artichoke soubise and tamarind demi-glace, and the blue corn tres leches cake for dessert.
Price: $$$, Michelin's "special occasion" band.
Hours: closed Monday, Tuesday through Sunday 3pm to 10pm.
Phone: (719) 434-2741.
How to book: OpenTable or the restaurant's own site, fourbybrotherluck.com.
The Penrose Room
Award: Recommended, 2026 MICHELIN Guide Colorado, plus the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Colorado Outstanding Service Award (general manager Joseph Freyre). It is also worth knowing this room carries Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond ratings, a separate, older recognition system, not a Michelin star.
Neighborhood: Inside The Broadmoor, southwest Colorado Springs, top floor of the South Tower.
Address: 1 Lake Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80906
Cuisine: Contemporary, built on old-school tableside service.
What to order: per Michelin and the restaurant's own menu description, the tableside Beef Wellington, the tableside Caesar salad, the flambéed Baked Alaska for dessert, or from the newer "sushi and raw" section, the tuna tataki with aji amarillo emulsion or the hamachi poke roll.
Price: $$$$, Michelin's top band ("spare no expense").
Hours: closed Monday, Tuesday through Sunday roughly 5pm to 9pm (the resort lists hours as subject to change, so confirm before you drive over).
Dress code: a jacket is required for gentlemen in the main room (dressy denim is fine), cocktail attire for ladies; the adjoining Penrose Lounge is more casual with no jacket rule.
Phone: (855) 421-4301.
How to book: through the restaurant's own page, broadmoor.com/dining/the-penrose-room, which has the reservation widget built in.
Making a night of it
Both of these are special-occasion restaurants, not a quick weeknight dinner. If you are driving in just for the meal, pair it with something else on the list. Four by Brother Luck sits right in the downtown core, so it stacks well with a walk through downtown first; see my downtown guide for what else is in walking distance. The Penrose Room is inside The Broadmoor itself, so the obvious move is to make an evening of the resort grounds beforehand, my Broadmoor write-up covers the free lake walk and what else is open to non-guests. If this is a date night and not just a dinner, I keep a separate running list of better date night ideas for the rest of the evening. And if you want the wider lay of the land on where locals actually eat day to day, not just the two Michelin names, start with my 5 best restaurants guide.
Making a night of either one? Here's where to stay.
If The Penrose Room is the plan, staying at The Broadmoor itself means you walk to dinner. If it's Four by Brother Luck, anything downtown puts you a few blocks from the door.
