Profile
When people ask where to go in Colorado Springs for something special — an anniversary, a birthday, a proper night out — Marigold is the name that comes up again and again. It is a French-inspired cafe and bakery on the northwest side that has quietly become one of the most decorated kitchens in town.

What to order
The menu leans French with an easygoing American streak, all built on fresh ingredients.
The beef bourguignon is the most popular dish for a reason: tender beef in a rich red-wine sauce, the kind of plate you slow down for. The rotisserie chicken, made with Colorado Red Bird chicken and roasted with rosemary and garlic, is the comfort pick.
Whatever you order, get something from the bakery. This is where Marigold has stacked up awards. The carrot cake, moist and studded with walnuts under cream cheese frosting, is the house favorite, and the cheesecake and dessert case have both taken top honors.
A local’s note
Here is my honest take: Marigold has the best desserts in Colorado Springs, hands down. The dinner is lovely and a bit of a splurge, but the bakery is the reason I send people here. Even if all you do is stop in for a slice of cake to take home, do that.
