Wyatt’s Pub & Grill

Every town has that one neighborhood pub the locals quietly keep to themselves. On the northwest side of Colorado Springs, that pub is Wyatt’s. It has been feeding the Rockrimmon crowd for years, and it earns its regulars the honest way: hearty food, fair prices, and a from-scratch green chili people will argue about.

What to order

This is classic neighborhood-pub food, exactly what you want after a ballgame or a day outside: unfussy, generous, and done well.

Start with the appetizers — they are half the fun. Regulars reach for the Philly and Reuben eggrolls, the warm soft pretzels with beer cheese, and a big plate of wings and fries.

The Colorado specialties are where Wyatt’s earns its name. The open-face green chili slopper is the one to order, made with their own recipe of New Mexico and Pueblo chiles and tender pork. Locals will tell you it is one of the best you will find outside of Pueblo itself. The fish and chips, battered in Fuller’s London Pride, are a safe bet too.

Save room for the brownie sundae with a little Bailey’s. They also fire wood-oven pizzas, run a full bar, and put nine big screens on the wall, so it is a solid spot to catch a game.

A local’s note

Here is how I actually use Wyatt’s: I go ride or hike at Ute Valley Park first, one of the best close-in spots in town, and when I have earned it, Wyatt’s is right down the street for a cold beer and a burger. It is a relaxed neighborhood pub up in Rockrimmon, the food is good, and the prices are fair. If you are anywhere on the northwest side, it is an easy, reasonably priced meal after time outdoors.

Wyatt’s sits at 806 Village Center Drive in Rockrimmon. Hours run Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Hours can shift on holidays, so call ahead at (719) 598-4100.
